I’m always thrilled when I get to share stories about the wonderful people I meet in my line of work. One such delightful encounter was with Sam and Philip for their engagement session at Beaver Lake Nature Center. Our day was filled with laughter, love, and the tranquil beauty of nature, providing the perfect backdrop for capturing some timeless moments. Sam and Philip are a match made in heaven, and I must say, their chemistry was absolutely captivating. From the moment we met, there was an instant connection. And by the end of our time together, I was delighted when they decided to have me capture their big day as well!
Sam & Philip’s Beaver Lake Nature Center Engagement Session
Having weathered the challenges of a long-distance relationship during college, Sam and Philip have now graduated and bought a home! The lovebirds took their relationship to the next level (with a beautiful engagement ring) and have planned to host their wedding at Timber Banks in October. I can’t wait! To celebrate their new beginning, Sam and Philip decided to have an engagement session at Beaver Lake Nature Center. I was so happy to encapsulate this memorable event for them!
The 690-acre oasis of greenery, with its winding trails, shimmering waters, and stunning views of meadows, wetlands, and forests, served as the perfect canvas for the photo shoot. If you’re a lover of nature and outdoor activities like canoeing, kayaking, or even snowshoeing and cross-country skiing when in season, this place is a veritable paradise. Sam and Philip’s engagement session at this phenomenal location was nothing short of magical. Their love for each other, combined with the enchanting backdrop, allowed me to capture some truly breathtaking images.
The weather was pleasant, and the afternoon/late evening light was spot-on. Sam and Philip, who are as stylish as they are sweet, opted for not just one but two outfit changes. For their first look, Sam was in a striking red dress that flowed beautifully as they walked hand-in-hand, while Philip looked dapper in a smart shirt and brown pants. Their chemistry shone through as I captured photos of them sharing sweet kisses and simply enjoying each other’s company. For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing couples immerse themselves in the moment, forgetting all about the camera.
It was clear from the get-go that Philip had put a lot of thought into choosing a ring as unique as Sam herself. She absolutely adored it, and so did I! To give this precious piece its due significance, I took some close-up shots that showcased its intricate design and the love that it symbolized. Love was indeed in the air, and I was there to capture it all through my lens.
As we ventured further into the park, we were wowed by an array of vibrant green trees and a sparkling lake that seemed straight out of a fairytale. Each backdrop was more picturesque than the last, providing endless opportunities for stunning photos. Our next stop was a secluded spot in the woods, where I got pictures of Sam and Philip lovingly embracing each other. Throughout the session, we made sure to explore every nook and cranny of this diverse location, resulting in a collection of engagement photos that truly encapsulated their love story.
