Photographing newly engaged couples always gets me excited. I get to see their personalities unfold during their engagement sessions, and also am delighted to hear all about their wedding plans. There’s something so special about capturing the love story of two people who are beginning their lives together. Plus, each couple brings their own unique charm to their session, which makes every engagement photo shoot a new and exciting experience. Jana and Jay’s engagement session in Downtown Syracuse was a treat to photograph. Not only were they complete naturals in front of the camera, but while shooting their session it felt like I was hanging out with friends!
Jana And Jay’s Engagement Session In Downtown Syracuse NY
I have been a wedding and engagement photographer for years now, and one of the things I love most about my job is getting to know my clients. I became good friends with my recent clients, Jana and Jay. We clicked instantly, and their engagement session made me incredibly excited for their wedding at The Marriott Downtown Syracuse.
Jana and Jay live in LA, but decided to get married in Jana’s hometown of Syracuse. When they were traveling home for the holidays, they made a point to schedule their engagement session. The two lovebirds decided to mix things up and planned on having their engagement photography in three picturesque locations.
Delphi Falls County Park
Jana and Jay chose Delphi Falls County Park as the first stop to start their engagement session for some beautiful waterfall photos. Jay wore a black coat, while Jana donned a bright red one. The contrast between the two colors was perfect against the surrounding nature. Plus, the long coats kept them warm as we walked around the park!
The gorgeous waterfall in the backdrop added a romantic vibe to their photos, and the couple was constantly smiling and laughing together. They really made it so easy to work with them. Jana and Jay also broke out in a dance, with Jay twirling Jana around like a princess and dipping her gently. They shared sweet kisses and looked like they were having the time of their lives. It was such a magical moment, and I had a great time watching them do their thing in front of the camera.
Heading to Downtown Syracuse
As their engagement session continued, Jay and Jana did a quick change into chic, formal outfits. Our next spot was the famous Landmark Theater. Since Jana likes to act and does it as a part-time job in LA, what better place to celebrate their new milestone than with the renowned Syracuse theater as the backdrop! The Landmark holds a special place in Jana’s heart, so the couple decided to get some more iconic engagement photos at this historic location. And since the weather was pleasant, I got great shots of the couple just being themselves and having the time of their lives.
Towards the end of the session, we traveled to Clinton Square. It had a massive Christmas tree, decorated with twinkling lights and ornaments, which filled the atmosphere with Christmas spirit. Jana and Jay were all smiles as they happily scouted the area for more engagement photos against the beautiful architectural backdrops. Their love for each other was evident in every frame. It was an absolute pleasure to capture their special moments.
