Mary & Brandon’s Wedding At Beardslee Castle, Little Falls NY

Picture this: a medieval castle perched atop a small hill, twinkling lights illuminating every corner, and a romantic couple whose love makes hearts flutter. That’s exactly what Mary and Brandon’s wedding was at Beardslee Castle in Little Falls NY. These two were hoping for a winter wonderland wedding with snow on the ground, but unfortunately, we didn’t get any. But that didn’t stop them from having a blast!

As a wedding photographer, I get to witness incredible love stories every day, but there was something extraordinary about these two. Sure, they love skiing and their adorably fluffy pup, Sven, but what stood out was their attention to detail. Even though Sven couldn’t make it to their out-of-state wedding, they made sure to include him in every aspect possible. From a cutout of him that Mary carried around to napkins adorned with his photos, every detail was perfect. And I was beyond honored to capture all the love and warmth surrounding them on their big day.

I adore shooting weddings where the couple does everything their way. Mary and Brandon did just that! They had a vision for their wedding day, and they executed it flawlessly. Mary looked stunning in her wedding dress, and Brandon looked handsome in his sharp blue suit. As I watched him turn around and see Mary for the first time, tears filled his eyes, and my heart swelled with joy. Against the backdrop of Beardslee Castle’s gorgeous outdoors, the scene was truly picturesque.

I was blown away by the venue’s unique architecture, sprawling gardens, and breathtaking views that made it an unparalleled treat for photography. I enjoyed every moment I spent with Mary and Brandon, capturing them walking hand-in-hand, stealing kisses, and gazing sweetly into each other’s eyes.

The venue was stunning, and the castle’s interior decor provided the most magical backdrop for my couple’s union. With a small, intimate ceremony of just eight guests, they opted to skip the traditional wedding party and create a day that was uniquely theirs. The love that filled the space when they exchanged vows was contagious. It was a true honor to capture their special moments and watch their love story unfold.

From the moment their guests arrived following the ceremony for cocktail hour and the reception, it was obvious that this was going to be a night to remember. The care and attention these two put into planning their day was evident in every detail. As Mary and Brandon took to the dance floor for their first dance, you could feel the love in the room. After their first dance, everyone was invited up to dance. The DJ kicked off the party before dinner. I don’t see this happening with Upstate NY weddings. Once dinner was ready, the guests were asked to be seated. Brandon gave a welcome speech. Then after dinner, their dances with their parents were just as heartwarming.

But the real kicker? Mary’s quick dress change after all the formalities were done! And when Brandon lifted her, it was the shot of the night. That cool denim jacket with “Mrs. Sunkes” on the back was everything! Overall, it was an unforgettable evening, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it.
