Marriott Syracuse Downtown Wedding | Jana & Jay

As a wedding photographer, I always love an opportunity that allows me to explore different cultures and traditions from across the globe, especially when it’s during the best day of two people in love – nothing beats that! Jana and Jay’s Marriott Syracuse Downtown wedding was my first Macedonian wedding, and it was an incredible experience. It was an absolute pleasure seeing how much time and effort they put into wedding planning – even the tiniest details were filled with meaning. Walking into the venue every aspect just showcased their love, passion, and commitment. It was absolutely amazing being able to document it all.

Jana And Jay’s Marriott Syracuse Downtown Wedding

I was so excited to begin the day photographing the bride and groom as they got ready. Jana looked gorgeous in her wedding dress and Jay looked so handsome in his tux. As they got ready with their closest family and friends, I could feel the waves of joy radiating off them both.

Jana and Jay’s wedding was simply stunning. The couple said ‘I do’ in a full service at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church, a stunning church that was just perfect for their wedding ceremony. The interior of the church was absolutely breathtaking and everything felt so vibrant and grand. Everyone from the couple’s family living in LA, Florida, and Syracuse traveled to attend the wedding. With people from all over in attendance, this beautiful celebration felt even more special as they happily cheered for the couple. Jana and Jay exchanged their vows and their smiles just lit up the room.

The reception at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown was romantic and gorgeous.

From taking photos of the couple’s grand entrances to capturing their tender moments as they swayed to their first dance, every moment was unforgettable. I especially loved how beautiful the venue looked in the portraits, truly providing amazing backdrops for me to create stunning images of Jana and Jay together. The newlyweds kept each other close, stealing kisses and exchanging big smiles throughout the night.

Some of my favorite moments to experience and photograph from the Macedonian culture were the traditional ‘Bread Dance’ and ‘Pig Dance’ during their reception. I loved how excited all of Jana and Jay’s friends and family were for them. It was so wonderful to watch everyone getting on the dance floor with the couple and showing some moves – so much energy! Being able to submerge myself into their culture like this was so much fun. Also going up on the balcony to see the views from above was really cool. The festivities, music, laughter, love and joy that filled the day will be memories they will never forget.
