Old Daley on Crooked Lake Wedding | Rachel and Brendan

It’s always special when you form a connection with a couple before their wedding day. With Rachel and Brendan, that connection was instant! I first met them at a wedding expo, and right away, I knew we’d have so much fun working together. We had a blast during their engagement session at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville, NY. The couple even brought a gorgeous purple bouquet and a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

Their joy and love for each other was on full display. I knew their wedding would be even more magical. Fast forward to their wedding day at Old Daley on Crooked Lake—let’s just say it exceeded every expectation! From the moment I arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully planned. I was honored to capture the one of most important day of Rachel and Brendan’s lives. I can’t wait to share all the beautiful moments from their spectacular celebration.

Rachel And Brendan’s Wedding at Old Daley On Crooked Lake

There’s something so special about those getting-ready moments before a wedding. Rachel got getting ready in a cozy room at Old Daley on Crooked Lake. The atmosphere was buzzing with happiness. Rachel’s bridesmaids were by her side, ensuring every detail was perfect. They wore light purple dresses, adding a fairy-like vibe to the morning. Rachel, a lover of all things purple, had woven her favorite color into every aspect of the day. From the bridesmaids’ dresses to the bouquet, the elegant purple theme added a romantic, ethereal touch to the wedding. Rachel looked absolutely radiant, and you could feel the excitement in the room as she prepared to marry the love of her life.

As the ceremony time approached, we faced a little weather hiccup – it was raining! However, Rachel and Brendan didn’t let the rain ruin their spirits. Instead of their original outdoor ceremony plan, they chose to bring the magic indoors. Honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Inside the beautifully decorated venue, surrounded by their closest family and friends, Rachel walked down the aisle with confidence.

As Rachel made her way toward Brendan, he could not stop smiling. The indoor space was intimate, making their vows feel even more personal. The sound of raindrops outside reminded me of my own wedding day, which was also a rainy affair. Their ceremony was a beautiful reminder that no matter the weather, love is what truly makes a wedding day magical.

After the ceremony, the rain started to ease up, giving us the perfect opportunity to sneak outside for some epic portraits. One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to create magic out of any situation, and this was one of those moments. Armed with clear umbrellas, we ventured out to capture some of the most beautiful shots of the day.

Old Daley on Crooked Lake is such a stunning venue. The lush greenery, the sparkling blue lake, and the overall serenity of the place make it a photographer’s dream. Even with the rain, the natural beauty of the venue shone through in every photo. Rachel and Brendan were total troopers, laughing and enjoying every moment despite the drizzle.

If I had to sum up Rachel and Brendan’s reception in one word, it would be “whimsical.” Purple was the star of the show but in the most elegant way possible. Rachel’s bouquet, which I swear was the largest and most stunning bouquet I’ve ever seen, was a true work of art. The ballroom had been transformed into what felt like a whimsical garden, with florals and décor that were nothing short of magical.

The energy during the reception was just as lively and fun as the couple themselves. From the moment they walked into the ballroom as newlyweds, the party was on! The dance floor was packed the entire night, with friends and family dancing the night away under twinkling lights.
