I absolutely adore my job! It’s my greatest privilege to meet and become part of the lives of so many lovely couples, all of whom have their own special stories. For any couple, the wedding day is undoubtedly one of the most special days of their lives as they celebrate their love with close family and friends. It becomes even more interesting when they work hard at making it a true reflection of who they are as a couple and something that they can look back fondly upon. Andrea and Dylan’s Rustic Ties wedding is a perfect example! The venue was stunning and the couple was incredibly lovely. The details of the day were all carefully planned out, right down to the duck hunt (guests had to search for 5 ducks on the property)! Here’s a glimpse of the wonderful day.
I met Andrea and Dylan at a bridal show and we hit it off immediately. I knew they were going to be a joy to photograph and was very excited to work with them. Despite the rain pouring down for their engagement session at Green Lakes State Park, they were awesome and we made the best of it! We laughed through every moment, enjoyed every minute, and managed to capture some beautiful photos despite the dreary weather. Because of this happily conquered stumble, I knew their wedding day would be nothing short of magical. And it truly was.
I started the day by capturing Andrea getting ready. She was so full of joy and breathtakingly beautiful. The rustic colors of the wedding, especially for the bridesmaid’s dresses, were perfect for the venue. The bridal bouquet was a stunning assortment of red, brown, and white roses that really took my breath away. Dylan’s getting-ready moments included him helping his groomsmen get ready and a close-up of a handsome watch he wore for the wedding. I also was able to capture a sweet no-look first look (where they held hands without seeing each other) right before the ceremony. This made their special day even more romantic and magical.
The rugged yet elegant beauty of the Rustic Ties venue in Dolgeville was perfect for Andrea and Dylan’s union. The verdant green outdoors made for a great backdrop for their outdoor ceremony and everyone was glowing with excitement and joy. One of the most touching moments was when Dylan saw his bride walk down the aisle – you could see him getting teary. So sweet! The wooden arch was decorated with flowers and fabric in the same colors as the wedding and framed the couple beautifully for their vows and first kiss as man and wife.
Photographing Andrea and Dylan for their couples portraits was a dream come true! I couldn’t help but feel their love radiating while they held hands, stole glances at each other, and exchanged kisses. The rolling hills in the backdrop, the vast expanse of green grass, the water and tall reeds, the wooden fences, and the barn combined for a really romantic setting filled with beautiful moments. I made sure to capture my gorgeous bride and dashing groom for some solo portraits as well.
I was absolutely blown away by how beautifully Andrea and Dylan had planned their reception and how well it came together. Even more so, what I loved the most was when they introduced a unique spin on their celebration – five hidden ducks! Four duck toys were quickly tracked down by the excited guests but one still remained sneakily hidden which prompted everyone to really get searching. It ended up taking about an hour for that last duck to be discovered. I could truly feel the joy in the air as everyone interacted and participated in the couple’s shenanigans just like they wanted. After their lovely first dance, Andrea and Dylan went around to every table to get a photo with each as fast as they could during one song – definitely a super-fun trend for weddings.
Andrea and Dylan, thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer. It was a fantastic wedding celebration and I loved documenting every special moment. Congratulations once again and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.
