The Gatsby at Dibbles Inn | Wendy and Rob

The Gatsby at Dibbles Inn

I met Wendy and Rob at a bridal show put on by Syracuse Weddings when they were looking for an upstate NY Wedding Photographer. They got married at The Gatsby at Dibbles Inn.

I love being an upstate NY wedding photographer and meeting so many couples at bridal expos. I like to do giveaways when I am a vendor at bridal expos. Wendy and Rob happen to be the lucky winners of one of my giveaways. After a quick video chat with these two, I realized we would get along great! Rob likes to crack a lot of jokes and Wendy was just AMAZING. I love everything about her honestly. I was excited about their venue too, The Gatsby at Dibbles Inn.

First, we did their engagement session. We went to Delphi Falls to take some photos there first, then we went to Critz Farms where Wendy and Rob cut down their Christmas tree! I have never cut down a Christmas tree before, so being able to tag along for this was so much fun.

Let’s talk more about the wedding day!

The beautiful venue was The Gatsby at Dibbles Inn. If you aren’t familiar with this venue, it is located in Vernon, NY. The Gatsby is situated on a property that has multiple wedding venues!

The day before rained a lot, so they ended up having their ceremony inside. The Silver Theater is BEAUTIFUL for indoor ceremonies. It is a relief for couples to pick a venue that has a backup plan in case the weather doesn’t work out on the day of your wedding.

My favorite part of the wedding day is right after the ceremony ends! I love when it is time to take photos of the bridal party and then the bride and groom after! The energy is high and everybody is so excited. The nerves have gone away and it is time to get the party started!

If you do a first look these photos can be done before. Are you on the fence about whether or not a first look is the right choice for your day? Check out a blog post I wrote about why you should!

Of course, we can’t forget about the reception at the Gatsby

Wendy and Rob’s reception was a BLAST. The Gatsby at Dibbles Inn offers a special experience for guests to enter the reception area. One of the most unique things about Wendy and Rob’s wedding reception was the speeches. This was the first time I have been to a wedding where just about every member of the bridal party wanted to say something. Everybody kept it short and sweet, so it didn’t take a long time. Each people had something genuine and personal to share. It was a special moment where everybody there was able to get to know the couple a little better!

The food was delicious, the drinks were flowing, and the dessert were tastey. The dance floor had people on it all night and you could tell that Wendy and Rob were surrounded by so much love and support. We can’t forget to talk about the hysterical interprative dance wendy and her sisters did for their dad, after all it was his birthday!

AND THERE WAS PIZZA AT THE END OF THE NIGHT. Who doesn’t love pizza?! Even though the reception ended at 9pm, the night didn’t end there. Friends and family spent the rest of the evening celebrating at the Turning Stone Casino.
